Tubecon is an international community-driven YouTube event that brings together YouTube creators and viewers in large-scale public events. Tubecon was first held in August 2014 at Hartwall Arena in Helsinki. It was attended by over 5,000 people. [1] Since then Tubecon has been organized 25 times across four different countries so far (Finland, Sweden, Spain and Switzerland) with altogether over 120,000 people attending all events. [2] In recent years, Tubecon has seen an increase in popularity as the YouTube and online influencer community has also increased. The biggest Tubecon events have gathered over 18,000 people and featured more than 200 YouTubers and online influencers. Tubecon's program for events was developed in collaboration with local online influencers. It features a variety of elements like Meet & Greets and Tubecon Video Awards, panels, and concerts. In 2018, Tubecon is taking place in Finland, Sweden, Germany and Switzerland and letters of intent have been signed in Romania, Latvia and Austria. [4] Performers[edit] Kasmir Justimusfilms MadCraft TCT Robin They also presented Hartwall Arena's Minecraft version on the main stage. 2015[edit] Tubecon 2015 took place at Hartwall Arena in August 2015[5] with over 10,000 visitors. 2016[edit] The Finnish Tubecon took place between 12 and 13 August 2016, with the second day of the event being sold out. The event attracted 18,500 people. [6] Sweden[edit] Tubecon in Sweden began in Stockholm on the 6th of January, 2016. The event was attended by more than 4500 people. They also did an autumn tour which started on 9 September in Vasteras and concluded on 10 December in Kungsbacka. Around 50 YouTube creators toured eight cities in total. [7] More than 15,000 people visited Tubecon events in Sweden during 2016. Germany[edit] The Tubecon was held in Germany at the Turbinenhalle Oberhausen on February 20 the 20th of February, 2016. Special VIP and Aftershow Tickets were also sold. 2017[edit] The Finnish event took place in Hartwall Arena between 12-13 August and attracted a crowd of around 17,500. [8] Spain[edit] The first ever Tubecon Spain event was held in Madrid's wiZink Centre on 18 February. The event drew more than 4,000 people and more than 200 Spanish creators. [9] Switzerland[edit] Tubecon Switzerland was organized for the first time at Zurich's Hallenstation on 29 December. The event was attended by 2,500 attendees. [11] 2018[edit] Finland[edit] The Finnish Tubecon took place for the first time in Messukeskus Helsinki on 17-18 August. The theme for the event was My Story. Around 200 Finnish YouTubers participated in the event. Tubecon hosted creators from around the world including the United States, Great Britain, Germany, Thailand, and Germany in the first Tubecon World Meet. International creators were Bars and Melody, Jon Cozart aka Paint, Softpomz and MrTrashPack. The event also introduced a brand new TubeCity concept, where different genres like gaming, beauty and fashion and food, included their own blocks within the city-like event space. Tubecon also introduced Tube Academy, a new educational track, which was open to filmmakers and anyone who is interested in getting more knowledge about the production of videos and the business.
